As a second master’s degree seeking student, I am pursuing grant funds to continue my passion and enthusiasm for the fantasy genre and for digitizing historical texts, documents, collections, etc. Currently, I a part-time graduate student in the Department of English at Illinois State University with an anticipated graduation date of December 2017. I also am a faculty member in the School of Communication where I received my first master’s degree in organizational communication in 2010. Having a dual purpose within the College of Arts & Sciences at Illinois State University allows me to contribute to this digitization project and bring a collaborative approach that benefits not only digital humanities scholars, but cross-campus communities.
It is my intention to continue with this particular digitization and incorporate many more quests derived from Traveller’s Tales. While so far I have only worked specifically with the fountain of youth quest, this text offers a variety of very rich tales, fantastic mythical beasts, and famous traveler stories. More more can be done…and will be!
